The driver Mr Kim was safe and courteous. Always had a cold towel and bottle of water ready for me after touring each temple. He enlightened us on each of the 9 temples inside Angkor Wat park we visited, as well as Cambodian history and culture. “We spent two days touring with our Tour Guide Tay and had a great time! We booked very last minute and they were able to accommodate us. We wanted to get a little more feel for the area of Siem Reap than just the temples but only had two days. Affinity worked with us to do one day at the temples close to Angkor Wat and a second day traveling to Phnom Kulen. Both days Tay and our driver met us in Siem Reap at our hotel. On the first day, we got started around 7:30AM to try to beat the heat, although we learned you can’t beat the heat! We weren’t truly prepared for how hot it would be! Thankfully, there were ample cold waters waiting for us at the van, and we were always happy to get back to the air conditioning! We did dress in longer pants as “required” however we noticed many individuals in shorts shorter than knee length, so unclear whether this is being enforced. Better to be on the safe and respectful side.

Tay took us around all the temples closest to Siem Reap and shared many insights and explanations about the history of the temple and Cambodia. You could tell he truly knew what he was talking about. By late morning, we were beginning to fade in the heat. After a light lunch, we finished up the tour at one last temple and were back to our hotel around 2PM.

On the second day, we drove out of the city to Phnom Kulen National Park. We got some great views, walked to the waterfall, and walked through a village up to the reclining Buddha. We also visited the thousand lingas. It was nice to do something a little different than the temples.

Tay was an excellent guide. It really did feel like we were being shown around by a friend. He answered our questions, but also let us enjoy the environment at times. One of the best parts, as other reviews have mentioned, is that he always knew the best places to take pictures, and is a great photographer! We especially appreciated this because as a couple we often don’t have pictures together from our travels, and now we have many pictures together of these two days in Cambodia.
